Adwise and Vandentop Tuinhout (timber merchant) win Friends of Search Award in the SEO category

At the presentation of the Friends of Search Awards 2022, Adwise and Vandentop Tuinhout were winners in the SEO category. Our case about creating exponential growth in a competitive market with a small budget was rated as best. Together with the Vandentop team, we were in Amsterdam to receive the award.

Friends of Search is one of the largest annual search conferences in Europe. More than 600 consultants, marketers and organizations came to Amsterdam this year to learn everything about the latest SEO and SEA techniques and developments. For two years now, prizes have also been awarded to the most innovative search collaborations during the conference in collaboration with DDMA and VIA Nederland. Together with the Vandentop team we were in Amsterdam to receive the award. We also got to take the floor to present our case to all those attending.

We will share the full case on our website soon, but this is what we have done so far, in a nutshell.

Step 1. We built a Google Shopping scraping tool to collect key elements such as keyword, date, title
Step 2. We analyzed th eresults with Python.
Step 3. We saved the data in BigQuery (useful for various dashboarding tools)
Step 4. Then we built dashboards to easily perform data analysis.
Step 5. Through various Magento modules, we uploaded the data input in a scalable way
Step 6. Finally, we built a Magento 2 module to update the descriptions automatically

The result? All the targets we had set were far exceeded, the workload was reduced and there was a huge increase in the number of free clicks.

Afterward, the international jury explained why our collaboration with Vandentop stood out. Below is the glowing response of the Friends of Search jury panel:

This case shows a great combination of Vandentop's strategic approach and creative thinking, in which the potential of automated content is fully exploited to achieve success. Naturally we are happy with our second Friends of Search SEO award in a row, but we are even more proud of our collaboration with Vandentop and the impact we have made together with this case. Without the confidence and commitment of the Vandentop team, this would not have been possible. In a response via LinkedIn, the garden timber specialist stated that they were 'extremely proud' of winning the award. And that is more than justified.
