
While Heracles Almelo is on its way to securing promotion to the Eredivisie on the field, the club has already achieved another success in the digital realm. They received a great nomination for 'best media innovation' at the AMMA awards. The award ceremony will take place on April 20th in Amsterdam, where Heracles could become the successor of Heineken, who received the award last year.
Industry association and media platform MWG has been awarding the AMMA awards for more than 20 years. These are the Dutch media prizes for the best campaigns, most striking concepts, and greatest talents in the digital world. This year, 14 professional juries evaluated the submitted cases in an equal number of categories, and the best ones were nominated.
Creativity, data, and technology are central in this category. The seven-member jury, including Birgit Moens (IKEA), Gwenny Bonimbie (Talpa Network), and Mark Stockx (Amazon), evaluated the innovative loyalty campaign of Heracles Almelo in collaboration with Adwise as one of the best three submitted cases. With this, the club joins a list of nominees including Heineken, Vodafone, Ford, and Centraal Beheer Achmea.
The nominated case revolves around unique hyper-personalization, where Heracles Almelo fans were personally surprised with voice and WhatsApp messages from their favorite players. This is an unprecedented example of marketing automation in the football world.
